Cord Blood Banking Procedure

Cord blood collection is a simple, brief, painless, safe, and non-invasive procedure.

After following standard delivery protocol and separating the umbilical cord from the mother and child, the obstetrician harvests the blood cells from a newborn's umbilical cord blood using DomaniCell collection technology.

The procedure typically takes about three minutes and poses no health risk to either mother or child.

Once the cord blood has been collected, a DomaniCell-authorized medical courier transports the cord blood to the DomaniCell laboratories for processing and storage.

All cord blood products received from hospital partner programs are processed and stored in DomaniCell's industry-leading laboratories. These laboratories are registered with the Food and Drug Administration, meet Good Manufacturing (GMP) and Good Tissue Practice (GTP) guidelines, and are accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT).
